Chinese national rescued from kidnappers in Kwara

A Chinese national, Mr. PengChao Zhang, who was abducted in Eyenkorin, a suburb of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has been rescued by the Kwara State Police command.

According to the spokesperson of the police in the state, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the rescue operation was carried out on Monday by the Command’s team and vigilantes.

Zhang was kidnapped on March 10, 2024, from a guest house in Eyenkorin by armed gunmen.

Ejire-Adeyemi stated, “The man had been reunited with his family unharmed. The success of the rescue operation underscores the commitment of the Command to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors within the state.”

She further elaborated, “Through diligent and coordinated efforts, the Command’s Tactical Teams and vigilantes executed a series of strategic search and investigation leading to the safe rescue of the victim in the early hours of 19th March, 2024.”

Highlighting the significance of the rescue, Ejire-Adeyemi emphasized the Kwara State Police Command’s dedication to upholding safety and security.

She concluded by urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly to the authorities.
