Four killed in Ogun road accident
A devastating lone accident on the Sagamu-Ore expressway claimed the lives of four individuals on Friday.
The sad incident occurred around J3 on the expressway, and the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission shared details with newsmen.
Anthony Uga, the Ogun State Sector Commander of FRSC, revealed that the accident involved a blue Toyota Camry with registration number BDG184FY. The tragic event took place around 11:40 in the morning.
In an official statement, Uga explained, “Fatal crash occurred at about 1140hrs on Friday 09/02/24 on Ore-Ijebu-ode section of the expressway around J3.”
“01 vehicle was involved with registration number BDG184FY, a Toyota Camry blue colour. A total of four persons; three male adults and one female adult were involved, and they all died from the lone crash.”
The cause of the accident was attributed to excessive speed, resulting in a loss of control. The vehicle veered off the road, somersaulted, and ended up in a swamp.
The remains of the deceased were taken to the State General Hospital morgue in Ijebu-Ode.
The Sector Commander urged motorists embarking on long journeys to take breaks for rest after four hours of driving to prevent fatigue.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits for safer travel.
Anthony Uga expressed his condolences to the families of the crash victims and encouraged them to reach out to FRSC Ogbere for additional information about the tragic accident.
