Governor Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir of Bauchi State has announced the commencement of a significant infrastructure project—a 5.2km dual carriageway in Azare—dedicated to the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farouk II.

Speaking during the official launch of the road construction in Azare on Monday, Governor Bala expressed deep appreciation for the enduring support of the Katagum Emirate Council towards his administration. He attributed the inception of the 5.2 km road project to a suggestion by Emir Umar Faruk II.

“The 5.2 km road, suggested by the Emir of Katagum Alhaji Umar Faruk II, is a testament to our commitment to the development of Azare and its surrounding communities,” Governor Bala remarked, emphasizing the transformative impact the road will have on urban development and transportation accessibility.

Governor Bala reiterated his administration’s dedication to prioritizing critical infrastructure projects aimed at bolstering the state’s economic and agricultural sectors.

“We are resolute in our efforts to collaborate with traditional rulers to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of our state,” he affirmed, underlining the importance of inclusive governance.

In response, Emir Umar Faruk II expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Bala for translating the long-held aspirations of the Katagum people into tangible development initiatives.

“We are immensely grateful to Governor Bala for his unwavering commitment to the progress of our community,” said Emir Umar Faruk II, echoing the sentiments of the Katagum Emirate and its citizens.

Musa Azare, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Katagum LGA, commended the Governor for his visionary leadership and dedication to grassroots development.

“The initiation of the dual carriageway project marks a significant milestone for Azare and its residents,” stated Musa Azare, emphasizing the anticipated growth and modernization of Azare township.

The 5.2km dual carriageway, starting from the Misau road roundabout and terminating at the Emir drive junction, is slated for execution by the Mother Cat Construction company.
