Manchester City and England footballer Kyle Walker has publicly apologized to his wife after it emerged that he fathered a child with another woman, marking his second instance of such a revelation
In an exclusive interview with The Sun newspaper, the 33-year-old defender admitted to making “idiot choices” and emphasized the need to take full responsibility for his actions. “What I’ve done is horrible, and I take full responsibility,” Walker stated, acknowledging the gravity of his mistakes.
“The only person to blame is me. I have roles and responsibilities that I’m aware of, and I’ve made stupid choices.”
Walker, who shares three children with his wife Annie Kilner, acknowledged the pain his actions have caused. “But I need to own up to my mistakes – I owe it to everyone,” he added.
The revelation comes amidst a history of controversy for Walker, who previously faced criticism for hosting a party at his Cheshire home during lockdown measures in 2020.
The incident prompted both public and internal scrutiny, with Walker later expressing remorse for his actions. “It was bad decisions from me at an important time for the country and the world. I take full responsibility for that but I’m moving on now,” he reflected during an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live.
Additionally, Walker faced legal issues over allegations of indecent exposure in a bar incident in March of the same year. While these controversies have shadowed his career, Walker remains resolute in confronting the present situation and its impact on his family.
Walker’s relationship with Kilner, whom he married in 2022 after a 12-year courtship, faces strain following the latest revelation.
The footballer, known for his successes with Manchester City and the English national team, has reportedly moved out of their shared home and is now residing in a rented apartment.
Despite his vows to limit contact with the mother of his second child to financial arrangements, Walker reportedly learned of Lauryn Goodman’s second pregnancy with him in late 2023.
Kilner was made aware of the situation through a direct message from Goodman on Instagram, exacerbating the family’s distress.
