Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has officially commenced the construction of the 18-kilometer Sanga–Jema’a road project, a vital initiative to connect Gwantu, the headquarters of Sanga, with Kafanchan in the Jema’a Local Government Area of the state.

In his address during the inauguration, Governor Sani emphasized the significance of the Sanga–Jema’a road in the broader context of rural transformation.

He highlighted its role in revitalizing the rural economy and narrowing the developmental gap between rural and urban areas.

Explaining the project details, Sani stated, “The road, which links two major local government areas in the Southern part of Kaduna through Kiban to Godogodo, is an entirely new route intended to reduce travel time between the two LGAs. The existing road through Fadan Karshi – Gidan Waya spans 62 kilometres.”

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering on campaign promises, particularly focusing on rural development through extensive infrastructure enhancement.

He stressed that the newly inaugurated road would facilitate easier movement of people, simplify transportation of agricultural produce to markets, and contribute to the overall economic development of the region.

The Commissioner for Public Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ibrahim Hamza, underscored the alignment of the project with the governor’s dedication to improving the lives and prospects of rural dwellers.

He highlighted Governor Sani’s commitment to infrastructural development, evident in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Sanga–Jema’a road project.

The project is expected to have far-reaching positive effects, reducing travel time, minimizing post-harvest losses, boosting agricultural productivity, and enhancing access to education and healthcare facilities.

The ultimate goal is to alleviate poverty and raise living standards in the region.
