A Malaysian Civil Defence Force personnel who was bitten by a king cobra during a demonstration at a programme in Temerloh yesterday died while undergoing treatment early this morning.
Pahang APM director Colonel (PA) Che Adam A Rahman said Sergeant (PA) Muhamad Muazam Shah Kamardin, 39, passed away at about 1.50 am.
“Muhamad Muazam Shah died while receiving treatment at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital, Temerloh,” he said when contacted today.
Che Adam said the remains of Muhamad Muazam Shah were expected to be buried at the Kampung Bukit Kelulut Cemetery in Temerloh this morning.
The victim was bitten on a finger of his right hand at approximately 10.50 am yesterday while taking part in the demonstration before leaving the hall to wash the affected area.
He later collapsed outside the hall and was immediately taken to the hospital, where he received further medical treatment.
