The Lagos State University of Education emphasizes the need for collective efforts to ensure the survival, growth, and flourishing of the university in the midst of escalating global challenges, including insecurity, crime, and social disorders.

During the opening of a security summit held in Otto-Ijanikin, Lagos, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bidemi Lafiaji-Okuneye, emphasized the significance of stakeholders uniting to nurture the promising citadel of learning.

In addressing the growing levels of global insecurity, crime, drug use, and social disorders, she highlighted the importance of addressing social misdemeanors promptly to secure the university’s future.

Lafiaji-Okuneye stressed, “We must join hands to grow the promising citadel of learning. In the face of the increasing level of global insecurity, crime, drug use and abuse, and other social disorders, we must nip the social misdemeanors in the bud and ensure that the university survives, grows, and flourishes. We can objectify these goals only if we go at it with all hands on the deck.”

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the university management organized the security summit as a proactive measure to address these concerns.

She highlighted the university’s impressive development and achievements within its first year, showcasing the commitment, dedication, determination, courage, focus, and objectivity characterizing the leadership.

Established in 2022 with approval from the National Universities Commission and recognition by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, LASUED has swiftly navigated national and local challenges, positioning itself as a beacon of learning and growth.
