Bandits kidnap woman, six-month-old baby in Abuja
Bandits on Sunday night reportedly abducted a woman and her three children, including a six-month-old baby.
The incident occurred between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Zone 5 segment of the Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation Estate along Arab Road in the Federal Capital Territory,
A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, shared concerns about the recurring incidents of kidnapping in the area, especially during the month of December.
The resident stated, “This kidnapping has become a regular occurrence here every December. If you remember very well, last December, The PUNCH reported a similar incident of abduction in the area, now this is another one, and it is worrisome.”
Another resident pointed out the apparent lack of adequate security in the area as a contributing factor to such incidents. “This kidnapping is due to a lack of adequate security in the area. Last night they kidnapped a whole family – a mother and her three children, including a six-month-old baby here at Zone 5, Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation estate.”
As of the time of this report, the FCT Police Command had not made an official statement regarding the abduction.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, when contacted, promised to provide information on the development.
“I will find out and get back to you as soon as possible, please,” Adeh said.
