A 42-year-old woman has reportedly lost her life in a fatal shooting in east London on Tuesday evening that also left two others, including a teenager, injured.
The Metropolitan Police received reports of the shooting in Vine Close, Hackney, at approximately 6:30 pm.
Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds. A 42-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The two other victims, a 20-year-old man, and a 16-year-old boy, were promptly transported to a hospital, where medical professionals are assessing their conditions.
Detective Superintendent Vicky Tunstall, from the local policing team in Hackney, expressed her condolences, stating, “This shocking incident has resulted in the death of a young woman, and my thoughts are with her family at this incredibly difficult time. My thoughts are also with the two people who have been taken to hospital.”
Tunstall acknowledged the profound impact the incident will have on the community, assuring, “We will share further information as our investigation progresses. Gun crime has no place on the streets of London, and we will do all we can to bring whoever is responsible for this despicable crime to justice.”
As of this time of report, no arrests have been made, and the woman’s next of kin are in the process of being informed
