Kogi kidnappers kill Pastor after payment of N1m ransom
Kidnappers reportedly killed Pastor David Musa of the Evangelical Church Winning All at Obajana, Kogi State, after collecting a ransom.
The pastor was abducted while tending to his crops on his farm in Obajana, Lokoja Local Government, on Monday.
The church revealed that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N20 million on the same day Pastor Musa was abducted.
Unfortunately, despite the payment of N1 million, the abductors took the life of the clergyman.
In a statement, the church expressed sorrow and shared the heartbreaking news with its members: “It is with a heavy heart, but in total submission to the will of God, I write to inform you that the abductors of our brother, Pastor Musa David, have killed him after collecting a ransom of one million naira last night. Let our prayers be with the family, church, and the DCC in this trying moment.”
A family source indicated that the pastor was killed on Tuesday night, and his lifeless body was discovered on Wednesday after the assailants had received the N1 million ransom following intense negotiations.
The Kogi State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer confirmed awareness of the incident and stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Onuoha Benthrand, has directed the anti-riot squad to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they face the full force of the law.
