IGP replaces Bayelsa police commissioner
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the redeployment of the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, CP Tolani Alausa, in a move that comes amidst allegations of bias.
The redeployment follows a series of protests in the state capital, Yenagoa, calling for Alausa’s removal.
Protesters accused Alausa of collaborating with a political party in organizing a stakeholder meeting and attempting to lure the IGP to attend.
