Some operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad on Thursday got more than they bargained for as residents booed and shamed them at PTI junction in Warri, Delta State.
This was made public in a video that went viral online showing some SARS officers carrying out their lawful duty.
In the video, the operatives moved quickly to stop a white SUV and started harassing the driver, thinking he is a Yahoo Boy (internet fraudster).
It was gathered that the officers even threatened to kill the driver if he doesn’t open the car doors, insisting that nothing will happen. But unfortunately for them, there was an Air-Force officer inside the car, but because the car was tinted they didn’t know.
The Air-Force officer approached them from the vehicle after the argument became overheated, and the policemen apologised and denied threatening to shoot.
