A faction of the African Democratic Congress in Kogi State, led by Kingsley Oga, has dumped the party’s governorship candidate, Leke Abejide, for the All Progressives Congress candidate, Ododo Usman.
Oga and other members of the party from the three senatorial districts made the announcement on Friday at the Government House in Lokoja.
Oga said he still remains the chairman of ADC in Kogi but decided to abandon the party’s candidate and work for the APC candidate because they believe that he is the best candidate for the job.
“Among all the governorship candidates for the November 11 governorship election, the candidate of the APC, Alhaji Ododo Usman is the best.
“Before now, he set up a five-man committee to asses all the candidates contesting. At the end, the committee’s report shows that Alhaji Ododo Usman is the right candidate to vote for,” he said.
He said that they had set up a five-man committee to assess all the candidates contesting in the election, and that the committee’s report had shown that Usman was the right candidate to vote for.
Oga also said that they were impressed by the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello towards the development of the state, and that they wanted someone to continue from where he would stop.
He commended Bello for his achievements in the past seven and a half years, and said that they were confident that Usman would perform well if elected.
