Four injured as Osun speaker’s convoy crashes
The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, reportedly escaped death as his convoy was involved in an accident on Sunday morning.
Four of his security details sustained various degrees of injuries in the accident, which occurred along the Osogbo-Ikirun-Ilorin express road.
According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred when the escort vehicle’s tyre burst on speed. The speaker was leaving the state capital for an event when the incident happened. The injured victims were taken to a private hospital around Oke-Baale in the town.
The speaker’s media aide, Tiamiyu Olamide, confirmed the incident but said the speaker was not in the convoy at the time. He said the speaker had already left the escort vehicle behind and the driver was in a hurry to catch up when the accident occurred.
Two of the injured security details have already been discharged from the hospital
