West Ham sign £38m Ghanaian midfielder Kudus
West Ham United has announced the signing of Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus for at least £38m. The 23-year-old Ghanaian international, who recently scored a hat-trick in Ajax’s Europa League play-off win over Ludogorets, expressed his excitement at joining the Premier League club.
“I’ve been dreaming to play in a league like this since I was a kid,” said Kudus. “I’m so happy to be here. But it doesn’t stop here, I want to keep going. I can’t wait to get started.”
Kudus began his professional career at Danish side Nordsjaelland in 2018 before joining Ajax in 2020. He has scored 27 goals in 87 appearances for the Dutch club, helping them to two league titles. He has also represented Ghana, scoring seven goals in 24 games since debuting in 2019.
West Ham manager David Moyes has been busy in the transfer market this summer, with Kudus being his second signing from Ajax following the arrival of fellow midfielder Edson Alvarez.
The club has also signed midfielder James Ward-Prowse from Southampton and defender Konstantinos Mavropanos from Stuttgart.
