Kaduna NDLEA seizes 370kg of drugs, 73 arrests
KADUNA, Nigeria – Operatives with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kaduna State seized nearly 370 kilograms of illegal narcotics and made over 70 arrests in anti-drug raids carried out two months ago, officials reported on Thursday.
According to NDLEA State Commander Ibrahim Braji, the June operations netted a substantial haul of cannabis, heroin, cocaine, prescription pills, and other banned substances. Among them were 93 kilograms of marijuana, 166 grams of heroin, 31 grams of cocaine, and over 275 kilograms of tramadol.
The agency said 73 suspects were taken into custody during the raids. Investigators also uncovered two pistols, including a 2MM with serial number 7737.
Six notorious drug dens across Kaduna were dismantled during the crackdown, including notorious spots in Rigasa, Mararaban Jos, and Kasuwar Sati.
“The command will continue its fight against illicit drugs in the state,” Commander Braji vowed warning traffickers and users that they face prosecution if caught
