Gunmen attack Imo School, chase students taking WASSCE away
Gunmen have attacked the Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume, in the Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, chasing away students participating in the ongoing West African Senior Secodary School Certificate examinations.
This follows the declaration of the sit-at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra.
Although details of the incident were sketchy as of the time of filing this report, sources said that the students were preparing to begin the examinations before the attackers came and chased them away.
The gunmen reportedly set ablaze some motorcycles belonging to some of the staff and students of the school.
They were also reported to have shot indiscriminately forcing the teachers and students to flee.
