Lagos diverts traffic at Teslim Balogun Stadium ahead of Super Eagles’ World Cup qualifier
The Lagos State Government has announced a diversion of traffic to Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, ahead of preparation for the FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Liberia.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the qualifying match between the two countries will be played by 5pm on September 3, 2021
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, explained that vehicles would be barred from accessing Surulere from Teslim axis from noon.
Oladeinde added that the diversion would include the service lane inbound the National Stadium from Alaka and Teslim Balogun Stadium from Ojuelegba.
“Motorists heading towards Costain, Lagos Island from Masha/Kilo and Surulere are advised to use Adeniran Ogunsanya or Bode Thomas to link Iponri or Eric Moore to access their destinations.
“Better still, they can alternately utilise Adelabu to connect Babs Animashaun/Eric Moore axis to link Brewery and access Costain or Eko Bridge.
