A Magistrates’ Court in Ile-Ife of Osun State has remanded a 28-year-old woman, Nifemi Ajayi, for allegedly biting her neighbour’s scrotum.
The Nation reports that Ajayi was arraigned befor the court on a count of assault. by the police.
Ms. Ajayi’s offence, according to the police, is contrary to and punishable under section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
While giving account at court, the prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi alleged: “On Aug 24, 2021, around 8:00 pm at No 21, Oke-Soda, Ile-Ife, Nifemi bite one Olayera Boluwaji on his scrotum and left side stomach, which caused him bodily harm.”
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the alleged offence just as the counsel, Mr Philip Fasanmoye made an oral bail application for the defendant on the most liberal term.
However, the presiding magistrate, Olusola Aluko, ordered that he should file a former bail application.
He remanded the defendant in Ile-Ife Correctional Center and adjourned the case to November 15, 2021, for consideration of bail.
