The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, on Monday announced the re-opening of land and sea borders.

This comes on the heels of the country easing most of its COVID-19 restrictions.

Akufo-Addo announced this in a statewide address on Monday.

He said, “From today, the wearing of face masks is no longer mandatory.

“All in-person activities, including religious gatherings, conferences, workshops, and funerals, may resume at full capacity if the audience and participants are fully vaccinated.

“Fully vaccinated travelers will be allowed entry through the land and sea borders without a negative PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test result from the country of origin.”

Akufo-Addo further appealed to citizens to live responsibly and observe measures.
