Stop downplaying my achievements, Toke Makinwa warns critics
Vlogger, businesswoman and television host, Toke Makinwa, on Tuesday lashed out at critics who downplay her achievements.
The fireworks started when a tweep identified as @unclebobby86 remarked that people need to stop abusing the word celebrity.
He further went on to make Toke Makinwa a point of reference as he stated that her name and celebrity shouldn’t toll the same line.
He said; “The way you guys abuse the word celebrity ehh. Please what makes Toke celebrity? coming on TV advising kids to marry a rich man, promoting prostitution is that what made her a celebrity? @tokkstar should never be put in same word with celebrity. She’s just Instagram famous”
Responding to @unclebobby86, another tweep @Iam_SMOD then asked “Whatever makes Kim K a celeb…
@unclebobby86 said; “Kim Kardashian is a reality TV star. And she’s a global brand, socialite, model, and businesswoman. Please tell me what Toke does?
An exasperated Toke who was following the debate came for @unclebobby86 who she blasted him for belittling her achievements.
She said; “I am sick of the disrespect!!! Google me if STFU.
“Let me help you small, I am a radio presenter, a television presenter, I have a pan African talk show the biggest talk show on TV with an African audience, actor, author, vlogger, entrepreneur, and the list is endless. Nigerians should really stop disrespecting me.
“I literally be on my own lane and you lane ass sorry excuse called “Men” who don’t have shit to offer but your Twitter fingers constantly belittle my achievements for conversations. Sometimes I gotta drop my crown and set you staright. Google is your friend
“Nobody should tell me to ignore cos ignoring these shit heads is what makes them run wild with imaginary stories, I ‘ve built my brand from the ground up and will not tolerate any disrespect from anyone.” she added.
