Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have stormed the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos State, in order to prevent the planned protest of the killing of Bamise Ayanwole.

WuzupNigeria reported that the 22-year-old fashion designer was abducted inside a Bus Rapid Transit on February 26, before her lifeless body was discovered days after.

Although the driver of the BRT that conveyed the victim was arrested on Monday, reports suggest that some youths planned to protest and demand justice over Bamise’s murder on Tuesday.

In response, the police in the state deployed patrol vans, a black maria and what looks like an anti-riot gun truck amongst others, in the venue.

Our correspondent who was at the park in Ojota counted about 10 trucks belonging to the police, and other security forces.

However, as of the time of filing this report, no protester was spotted at the proposed venue of the protest.

Meanwhile, BRT operations were reportedly suspended on Tuesday morning across the state over the fear that the bus drivers might be attacked.
