Mechanic remanded for allegedly stealing two laptops, iPhone
A 32-year-old mechanic, Amos David, was on Friday remanded in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing two laptops and iPhone.
The police charged David, who resides in Kaduna, with breaking-in and theft.
He pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Dec. 20, 2021 in Kaduna.
Leo said that the defendant broke into an apartment belonging to the complainant, Mr Fred Chris, and stole two laptops worth N320, 000 and an iPhone worth 150,000.
He said that the defendant also threatened to harm the complainant. The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 57 and 276 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.
