Ini Umoren: Job seeker’s ‘killer’ pleads guilty to murder
Uduak Akpan, the prime suspect in the murder of a graduate of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), Iniubong Umoren, has pleaded guilty to murder at a State High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Uduak Akpan on Monday pleaded guilty to causing the death of the young graduate.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to rape.
Mr Akpan had lured the Akwa Ibom indigene out of her home with a fake job interview.
26-year-old Umoren was buried in a shallow grave in Mr Akpan’s family house where the crime took place.
The victim was properly buried in May at her hometown, Nung Ita, Ikot Essien in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.
