Omo Baba Olowo, popularly known by his stage name, Davido, on April 30th gifted his girlfriend, Chioma, a Porsche SUV vehicle allegedly worth N45 million in celebration of her 23rd birthday.
Nigerians upon hearing the amount spent on the luxury SUV vehicle, took to their social media accounts to express their amazement about the gift.
Some of the social media users who took a swipe at the music star for living a lavish life and being a big spender said he bought the 2018 BBNaija winner, Miracle, for Chioma.
The statement was made because the amount Davido claimed to have bought the SUV car was exactly the same amount of money Miracle won in the BBNaija reality show after spending 90 days in the house.
The Herald in its reports said the car is not worth N45 million as publicised by the media and that the car is a second-hand. The medium said even a brand new Cayennes can be bought for less than N45 million.
Meanwhile, a research conducted by auto aficionado has revealed that the truck is a 2011 model which retails for about ($25,000) N10 million, exclusive of customs and other charges, noting that the total value of the vehicle is usually less than N20 million.
However the trim Davido purchased seems to be full options probably bringing the total value of the car to about N20 million.
The amount is still a large sum of money though but it is not up to the N45 million that would be spent to buy a newer model of the car.
Reports further disclosed that the 2018 model of the car starts from $65000 (N24 million) and certainly to get it to Nigeria will still be less than N40 million, depending on the greed of the car dealer.
