Jay Z, Nas, Snopp Dogg feature in DMX start-studded posthumous album – Exodus
Arrangement has been concluded for the release of Exodus 1:7, the star-studded posthumous album of Late rap legend, Earl Simmons aka DMX.
According to his long-term producer, Swizz Beatz, the album would feature the likes of Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Alicia Keys, Nas and a host of other movers and shakers of the American music industry.
The album is named after the rapper’s four-year-old son, Exodus Simmons, who also features on the soon to be released album.
DMX who sadly passed away at the age of 50 on April 9th also featured a fellow rap king, Snopp Dogg and R&B legend, Usher Raymond in the forthcoming album set to drop later this month (May 28th) will via his old record label, Def Jam.
Describing DMX in a recent press release, Swizz, quoted by NME, said: “My brother X was one of the most pure and rare souls I’ve ever met,” Swizz said in a press release. “He lived his life dedicated to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure.
Recall that WUZUPNIGERIA, quoting TMZ, reported that Simmons was hospitalised after suffering a heart attack as a result of an alleged overdose of cocaine on April 3.
DMX who remained in ICU was rumoured to have passed away a day before he was confirmed dead by an American comedienne, Luenell Campbell, but his family and manager, Steve Rifkind, debunked the report.
Campbell later deleted the post, apologised and explained that she considered someone to be “gone” when “your spirit leaves and your organs fail you”.
Sadly, the family announced his death a day after: “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days.”
The late rapper has since been buried following a funeral held at a private service on Sunday, April 25th 2021. A monster truck surrounded by a fleet of motorcycles carried his casket from Yonkers to Brooklyn for the funeral.
DMX left behind 15 children at the time of his death, including Exodus who he shared with Desiree Lindstrom.
