A man sentenced to death for armed robbery, on Friday, attempted to commit suicide in the premises of the Benin High Court in Sapele Road, Edo State.
This was made known in a post shared on the Facebook page of Barrister Jefferson Uwoghiren.
Reports said the convict decided to end it all after hearing the judge’s verdict on his case, but he was quickly stopped by prisons officials attached to him and other accused persons.
The convict was recorded lying on the ground while crying and lamenting before he was later transported to prison alongside other accused.
