Singer Jennifer Lopez breaks up with Alex Rodriguez after two years engagement
Veteran Hollywood singer, Jenifer Lopez, and her superstar fiance, Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod), have broken up, according to PageSix.
As it stands, the lovers would no longer proceed with their engagement of two years which, according to reports, has been called off.
The stars announced their engagement in 2019, after having dated for over two years but had to postpone the wedding twice.
Lopez revealed in December, “We had to cancel the wedding … because of COVID, because of the quarantine. And we actually did it twice, which people don’t know.”
Sources close to the couple said that the break up was as a result of an alleged affair between A-Rod and “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy, whom Rodriguez had been FaceTiming.
“The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they finally broke up. There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed by it,” a source told Page Six on Friday.
LeCroy’s interference in their relationship was quelled in February after sources close to A-Rod told The Post of the rumours that “He (Rodriguez) doesn’t know this woman.”
LeCroy then told Page Six that she and A-Rod have “never met up,” but that they had “spoken on the phone.” “That’s the truth,” she said, adding they’ve “never been physical … never had any kind of anything. Just an acquaintance.”
The couple appeared to have failed to stay together afterwards despite several attempts, including a dinner in Miami, the Super Bowl attendance together, where J.Lo had performed at the halftime show a year earlier, as well as therapy sessions.
“I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship,” says Lopez after they saw a therapist during their time in quarantine.
A source familiar with A-Rod told PageSix of the broken-up pair on Friday, “He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season, and she’s filming her movie(Shotgun Wedding) in the Dominican Republic.”
