We remain optimistic about rescuing remaining Chibok girls – Gov. Zulum
The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has expressed that his administration is still committed to rescuing the rest of the Chibok schoolgirls in Boko Haram captivity.
Recall that six years ago, over 200 girls were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from their secondary school in Chibok town.
While some have been rescued and several others escaped, many still remain in captivity.
However, during an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Governor Zulum who himself has been a victim of several attacks when asked if the government had lost hope in the rescue of the Chibok girls, said:
“Not at all. We are still optimistic.”
