Black Panther star, Letitia Wright, blasted for stance on COVID-19 vaccine
Black Panther star, Letitia Wright, has faced a heavy backlash from fans after she shared a video casting doubts on COVID-19 vaccine.
The actress shared the video from Youtube in which the presenter spoke about the dangers associated with taking vaccines.
He also said that the ingredients of the COVID-19 vaccine contain an enzyme called Luciferase.
This raised concerns due to the similarity between the word and Lucifer, a character in the Bible.
Letitia Wright shared the video with a prayer emoji on Twitter where she has over 300 thousand followers.
One Twitter user brought it to her notice that luciferase in Biology “is commonly used as a reporter to assess activity in cells that are transfected with a genetic construct containing the luciferase gene under the control of a promoter interest.”
He added that “it is used in research and not in the vaccine itself.”
In response, Letitia Wright said “the name Lucifer is an interesting choice. Opens Bible.”
In one of her back and forth with Twitter users, the actress who was getting attacked said, “If you don’t conform to popular opinions but ask questions and think for yourself, you get cancelled.”
She later said that it was not her intention to make anyone upset and that she was not planning on not taking the vaccine.
According to her, “I’m just concerned about what’s in it that’s all. Isn’t that fair to question or ask?”
