Gbajabiamila condemns killing of 43 farmers by Boko Haram in Borno
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has reacted to the killing of 43 farmers by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno.
The farmers were beheaded on a rice field in Zabarmari in Jere Local Government of Borno on Saturday.
Condemning the killing, Gbajabiamila urged the military to apply more action against the insurgents.
The Speaker who issued a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, said, “It’s unfortunate that about 50 of our countrymen lost their lives to the barbaric and inhuman action of the insurgents at this time.
“This incident is one too many for us as a country. Here were innocent citizens going about their lives looking for their daily bread to cater for their families, but were murdered in a most gruesome manner.
“Their lives should not go in vain. This should call for more action from our military.
“My heart goes out to the families of the murdered farmers.”
