How Nigerian-born Tosin Adarabioyo is giving Manchester City headache
Few weeks before the transfer window closes in Europe, latest reports suggest Manchester City are fighting tooth and nail to keep one of their cherished youngsters, Tosin Adarabioyo.
Adarabioyo is a Nigerian-born England Under-19 international.
Since coach Pep Guardiola joined City in the summer, the talented 18-year-old has impressed with his performances in pre-season matches. He was the only player to play all 180 minutes of their two opening pre-season fixtures.
Reports say Guardiola believes the youngster can be a huge asset at the Etihad Stadium.
However, City could lose the teenager as there are uncertainties over a new contract.
It was learnt that many rival teams like Tottenham, Everton and Celtic are among clubs already showing interests in Adarabioyo.
His present contract at City remains less than 12 months and is yet to sign fresh terms.
It was gathered that attempts to secure the starlet’s long-term future over the past year have not been successful.
An inside source informs City are willing to redouble their efforts to tie down the starlet but it is understood Adarabioyo wants assurance regarding his first team chances.
Dailymail reports that Adarabioyo has already made his senior debut, starting in last season’s FA Cup loss to Chelsea, winning City’s man of the match award, and is hoping for further first-team chances during the forthcoming season.
Joining City as a five-year-old, Adarabioyo has played at every age group for the academy, making his debut for the Under-18’s at 14 before captaining the side at 16.
