Suspected motorcycle thieves arrested in Ibadan (Photos)
The Oyo state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested and paraded some suspected motorcycle thieves.
Speaking to newsmen on Monday, July 13, the state’s NSCDC Commandant Mr Iskilu Akinsanya recalled how one Mr Adeyi Olalekan, 25 years (M) who live at Awososo Area, Bembo Apata was stopped by one of the suspects at 0630hours on Sunday, 12th July 2020 to take him to transformer in Iyana Cele, Apata NNPC Area from Awososo.
Olalekan was however attacked with locally made gun and knife by the suspects who snatched his motorcycle.
Akinsanya said;
“One of the suspects fell from the bike, he was pursued and was caught at Johnson Awe Ara Apata by men of NSCDC at that Area”.
The other suspects were later apprehended by the Intelligence and Investigation Department of NSCDC.
The NSCDC commandant added;
“The suspects were Mustapha Suleiman, 35 years, Sanni Ataka, 37 years, Sarafadeen Amodu, 29 years, Muktaka Gambo, 17 years, Abubakar Ibraheem, 27 years, Haruna Adamu 28 years, Ado Adamu, 29 years and Lamidi Saidu, 28 years.
“The suspects were arrested with 1 local Gun, 6 Handsets, 1 NIMC ID Card, 3 red Boxer Motorcycles with the following Registration Numbers: OSUN BDS 725 QR, OYO MNY 929 QM, OGUN JGB 136 WF”.
