Five things to know about Huddersfield FC

Huddersfield Town Football Club, won promotion to the Premier League in dramatic fashion last week. This means the club will be playing in the prestigious English Premiere League for the first time in 45 years.

Apart from being the first English club to win three successive league titles in 1926, here are five facts you should know about the EPL new entrants.

1. Huddersfield FC was founded on August 15, 1908, making the club 108 years old.

2. Current chairman of the club side is Dean Hoyle, the founder and former owner of greeting cards business chain, Card Factory.

3. It took the founders of the club five years, from 1908 to 1913 to arrive at a choice of the clubs current blue-and-white jersey that remains to this day.

4. The home stadium of the club is Kirklees Stadium (known as the John Smith’s Stadium due to sponsorship), Huddersfield, in West Yorkshire, England.

5. The club, nicknamed, The Terriers is managed by David Wagner.
