Very soon, the tax payable by Nigerian entertainers will rival or even surpass the ones payable by captains of industries and corporations.
Recently Burna Boy, a popular dancehall reggae artiste revealed the huge amount of money he charges per show and if the tax office would calculate their due based on that, it would rival any big business.
The popular musician revealed in a recent post on social media that anyone who wanted him to perform at any event should be ready to part with $50,000 (N15.2 million, at N305/$ rate).
Confirming Burna Boy’s claim, Ghanaian hiphop artiste, Shatta Wale said in a recent video that he and Burna Boy performed at a 5-year-old girl’s birthday party and were paid $100,000.
