10 pilgrims dead, seven injured in Osun road accident
Ten people have been confirmed dead, while seven others were said to be injured in an accident involving a bus conveying some pilgrims leaving Otan Ayegbaju, Osun State for another destination.
The destination of the bus could not be immediately ascertained as of the time of filing this report, however the vehicle involved reportedly left Oke Maria pilgrimage in Otan Ayegbaju that ended Sunday morning before the accident occurred.
Some priests, our correspondent was told were in Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital, Osogbo Sunday afternoon to donate blood to some victims in urgent need of blood transfusion.
Spokesperson for Osun Police Command, Folasade Odoro, in an interview, told our correspondent, that ten people were confirmed dead in the crash, while seven others were injured.
She added that the Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, immediately the report was received mobilised men to the area, adding that the scene of the accident had been cleared.
