GRAMMYs acknowledges Wizkid, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage as Key Players of Afrobeats
The Annual Grammy awards have acknowledged the role of four Nigerian music artiste in Afrobeats, noting that all eyes are on Africa.
The Grammy Awards, while acknowledging other players in afrobeat music, specifically mentioned Wizkid, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi and Tiwa Savage.
The Grammy body, in a statement, said,
“Currently, Afrobeats is the next international sound sweeping pop music”. This is quite a recognition and a big deal for the African society. Oh, and yes, we are proud of how far we have come
The Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is set to go down in three weeks; 27 January 2020.
The Recording Academy highlights all these landmarks, including Wizkid’s recent feature in Beyonce’s ‘Lion King: The Gift’ album. Efforts contributed by Burna Boy and Mr Eazi are also not marginalised. Not to forget Tiwa Savage’s mega music deal with Universal Music Group. Truly, all eyes are on Africa!
