Lamborghini stolen in Switzerland, discovered in Ghana with Nigerian number plate
A Lamborghini Huracan Spyder (610 hp) stolen from Switzerland has reportedly been discovered in Ghana, albeit with Nigeria plate number.
In an Instagram post, Luxury Rental Benelux, a car rental company based in Germany, claimed the vehicle was rented in June in Zurich, Switzerland to a Ghanaian by one Deniz Torun.
However, instead of the Ghanaian returning the car as agreed, he sent it to Ghana, changed the number plate to Nigerian, customised with the name, “Chosen 1”.
The car rental wrote on Instagram,
This [sic] are pictures of the car seen in Accra, Ghana and the person has no embarrassment and put on the car “choosen1”?
Chosen one to steal car from my friends company ?? 10000 euro reward who can help show the car. Please Dm with Information. How you steal car with Ghana passport and send to Ghana ?? Stupid criminal!!!
The original number plate for the stolen sports car is ZG-27482.
According to local newspaper, Blick, Torun rented the car to a young man with a Ghanaian passport in front of the Hilton Airport Hotel in Opfikon ZH, a municipality in Switzerland.
“He was a guest in this hotel, so I trusted him, I did not worry about my Lambo,” Torun told the local newspaper.
The last location Torun tracked the car to was Jestetten, a town, in Germany.
The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder has a powerful V10 engine and costs a good 200,000 francs in Switzerland.
Also, Luxury Rental Benelux claimed the Ghanaian, after seeing the post on social media, contacted the owners, begging for a chance to resolve the issue amicably.
