Tragedy averted as huge rock fell off hill, rolled towards primary school in Ekiti
Tragedy was averted on Wednesday in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State as a huge rock rolled down a hill in the area after a downpour.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the incident happened on Moferere Street near a primary school and the area has become a Mecca of sorts.
It was further gathered that the rock, which had always been at the top of the hill, only stopped rolling after it reached a point where it can no longer move.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has called for the scrapping of the Senate to reduce the size of governance.
He said that going by the current economic realities, the type of legislative system that would really work for the country “is a unicameral legislature.”
Nigeria’s national assembly consists of a Senate with 109 members and a 360-member House of Representatives.
He spoke at one of the panel sessions on the sidelines of the 25th edition of the Nigerian Economic Summit with the theme, ‘Nigeria 2050: Shifting gears.’
