Pastor kills girlfriend, steals her N2m, spends it on church renovation and musical instruments
The Enugu State Police Command is holding a pastor in custody over the alleged murder of his girlfriend.
Pastor Chukwuemeka Eze of the Royal Prince Prophetic Ministry was said to have killed his girlfriend, one Miss Ogechukwu Ogbodo, on 15 July 2019 over her refusal to buy him a commercial tricycle, popularly known as keke.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the pastor stole N2m from Ogbodo and used the money to renovate his church.
It was gathered that Eze and the deceased, who was a recharge card sales agents with some telecom providers in the state, had been in a relationship for five years.
It was further gathered that on July 15, 2019, Ogbodo had returned home with over N2m, which she had intended to pay to the bank the following day.
The pastor, who was aware of the huge amount with the deceased, paid her visit at home and later killed her.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident. He said the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Amaraizu disclosed that the suspect had after killing the girlfriend, ransacked her house where he collected over N2m and title documents to the girl’s landed property.
He added that the suspect used the money to renovate and procure musical instrument for his church.
He said that the suspect had confessed to the crime.
The suspect according to the Police Spokesman, killed the deceased because she refused to purchase a tricycle for him to ride since she had been buying it and giving to people to ride on hire purchase for her.
The PPRO said that the suspect was already helping the police in its investigation and would be charged to court soon.
