Imo hotel guest flees after killing female partner
Tragedy struck in Owerri, the Imo state capital on Sunday after a lifeless body of a fair-skinned lady was found beneath a bed in a hotel room.
This is even as her male partner who checked into the hotel fled without leaving any trace at all.
The incident happened at a hotel located at the World Bank area of the state capital, investigation by our correspondent reveals.
The male partner had allegedly strangulated his partner after having sex with her.
Our correspondent learnt on Monday that the two guests had checked into the hotel the previous day(Saturday).
The girl’s corpse was discovered by one of the hotel attendants who went into the room to clean it.
A source at the hotel told our correspondent that no hotel attendant knew when the fleeing killer escaped from the hotel.
The source said,
“There was no noise suggesting that they fought. Nobody also knew when the man escaped from the hotel. We were shocked to discover that a girl was lying lifeless under the bed in one of the rooms.”
“When we checked for her partner, it was discovered that he had escaped. We quickly reported the incident at the police station. The police are investigating the matter. The man did not leave any trace at all.”
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident when contacted.
The police spokesperson said that the state commissioner of police, Rabiu Ladodo, had ordered a full-blown investigation into the murder case.
Ikeokwu said “The death was reported to us and we are investigating it. The male partner fled but we have sensitive information we. are closing in on him with.itis a case of murder.”
“The victim’s identity has not been ascertained because his partner who apparently killed her made away with her phone and bag .There is no means of identification for now but we have advanced our investigation and soon we will apprehend the fleeing killer.”
