Microblogging platform, Twitter, has pulled down some tweets from the verified Twitter account of Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), for breach of its privacy policy.

Keyamo had in a Twitter tirade on Saturday night berated Nigerian rap icon, Eedris Abdulkareem, for calling him out in his latest song, ‘Jagajaga Reloaded’.

In the thread, Keyamo had labelled Abdulkareem an activist-by-day-and-hustler-at-night who secretly approached him to be part of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) Campaign Organisation which he directed in 2018.

He went further to claim that the veteran rapper secretly begged him for a loan of about N3 million to take care of his family and hotel bills but in the process, Keyamo uploaded screenshots of some messages the rapper sent to him which included his entire personal phone number.

The move had attracted the minister heavy criticism from some Nigerians on the bird app who rebuked him for breach of privacy, one which Twitter has now taken action on.

Although the tweets from the lengthy thread are still on Keyamo’s timeline, the separate tweet which had the screenshots has been pulled down with Twitter’s privacy message boldly splashed on it.

“This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules,” Twitter wrote, giving a reason for pulling down the tweet.
