Xabi Alonso agrees deal to coach Borussia Mönchengladbach
Former Bayern Munich star, Xabi Alonso, will take over affairs at Borussia Mönchengladbach after agreeing on a deal to become the manager.
Alonso’s deal was disclosed by Christian Falk, the Head of Football at German outlets Bild and Sport Bild.
The former Real Madrid midfielder would take over in June, replacing Marco Rose, who signed a deal last month to become Borussia Dortmund’s manager at the end of the season.
The Spaniard who won the 2005 Champions League with Liverpool has been in charge of Real Sociedad’s B team but will return to Germany in June to take the top job at Mönchengladbach.
Alonso won three Bundesliga titles with Bayern after being signed by Pep Guardiola in 2014 and ended a glorious playing career three years later.
