The 2Baba Benue visit has drawn attention to the persistent bloodshed in the state, with the singer urging the government, communities and other stakeholders to work together on lasting solutions.
According to Vanguard, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, visited residents of Otukpo-Nobi on Wednesday to sympathise with victims and families affected by a recent attack.
Sharing a video from the visit on his Instagram page, the Benue-born singer said the suffering of residents should concern everyone.
“Benue is home. When home hurts, we all feel it. Today is about standing together, listening, and reminding one another that hope is never lost,” he wrote.

Addressing members of the community, 2Baba expressed sadness over the loss of lives and said the violence had become too serious to ignore.
“It’s becoming too much now, we can’t pretend anymore. We need to begin planning,” he said.
The singer acknowledged that finding a lasting solution would take time but insisted that progress was possible through proper planning and cooperation.
“It won’t be automatic, but there is definitely going to be a solution,” he added.
Singer calls for collective action
2Baba said no individual could resolve the state’s security challenges alone, stressing that the government, communities and other stakeholders must work together.
“It’s not going to be one person. We all need to come together and fight it,” he said.
“I came to sympathise with you all. It’s painful.”
The singer’s visit followed renewed attacks on communities in Otukpo and other parts of Benue State, where residents have continued to demand stronger security and protection.
He urged those in positions of authority and influence to move beyond expressions of sympathy and begin developing practical measures to prevent further violence.
