The African Icon, Dangote, clocks 60
Nigerian billionaire and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, [GCON], Aliko Dangote, is a year older today. Dangote was born April 10, 1957. He hails from a very prominent business family that lived in Nigeria. Dangote is the great grand son of Alhaji Alhassan Dantata, the richest African at the time of his death in 1955.
The business mogul who hails from Kano state is the Chairman and CEO of Dangote group of companies. The company is an household name in Nigeria and a source of job creation for many Nigerians.
He is ranked by Forbes magazine as the 67th richest person in the world and the richest in Africa.
Joining Buhari in pouring encomiums on Dangote were Senate President Bukola Saraki and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, as well as several other leaders of the business community who praised his entrepreneurial acumen and wished him much more successes in life.
In a letter to Dangote dated April 9, 2017 and released on Sunday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media, Tunde Rahman, the APC national leader described him as an inspiration to many people, commending him for his boldness and bravery in taking business risks that had paid off hugely for him.
He is also mentor to a lot of young Nigerians. As a philanthropist, he has made great sacrifices toward the plight of the nation.
