Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will secure victory in the 2027 general election, describing the contest as one that would favour the incumbent.

Keyamo made the statement on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he expressed confidence that Tinubu would defeat opposition candidates by a wide margin.

The minister dismissed the prospects of presidential hopefuls from the two major opposition parties — the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, respectively.

He maintained that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration would remain in power after the 2027 polls, citing the achievements of the current government as a reason for the continued support of many Nigerians.

“I want to make a profound closing statement. Not out of arrogance. Not out of overconfidence. But out of pure demographic calculations. The 2027 election is a coronation, not an election. I repeat, don’t take me out of context. Out of pure demographic calculations, it’s a coronation.

“Everywhere shall go blurred. I’m looking around. Between you and me, where will Obi’s votes come from? I can’t see it. I don’t see where it will come from,” he said.
