The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the gruesome killing of a 10-year-old Almajiri boy, Abdalla Lawali, in Jada Local Government Area.

The suspects, Ibrahim Abdul Malik, 27, and Aliyu Abdul Malik, 18, both residents of Anguwan Sarkin Yamma, were apprehended following an intensive investigation by police operatives attached to the Jada Divisional Headquarters.

Police spokesperson, CSP Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement on Sunday, revealed that the suspects were accused of killing and beheading the victim, whose disappearance was reported on March 7, 2025.

“Upon receiving information on the suspects’ involvement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, deployed security operatives to the scene, where the decomposed body of the deceased was recovered in a sack bag,” Nguroje stated.

Further investigations led officers to the suspects’ residence, where the victim’s head was found buried in a shallow grave within the premises.

Nguroje added that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and expressed regret, attributing their actions to demonic influence.

Condemning the act, CP Morris ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.

He reassured the public that justice would be served and urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant while reporting any suspicious activities in their communities to law enforcement authorities.
