Mohammed Fawehinmi, the son of Late iconic legal luminary and human rights activist, Gani Fawehinmi, has passed away.

Here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about him:

  1. Mohammed Fawehinmi is the first son of the late human rights lawyer Chief Gani Fawehinmi.
  2. Born on February 21, 1969, Mohammed died at the age of 52 in Lagos on Wednesday.
  3. After his primary education at Kotun Memorial School, Surulere, Lagos he proceeded to the Federal Government College, Sokoto, for his secondary education.
  4. In 1991, Mohammed graduate from the University of Lagos after studying Business Administration.
  5. He obtained an LLB degree from the University of Buckingham, England and was called to Bar in 1998.
  6. His childhood dream was “to become an army general,” he said in a 2018 interview with The PUNCH.
  7. Mohammed lost his ability to walk at the age of 34 after his involvement in a car accident on September 23, 2003.
  8. Devastated by the tragedy, Mohammed who said he was dating a “beautiful Igbo lady” broke up with her after the accident. “She still wanted to stay with me; I was the one who advised her to move on because she may not be able to cope with the demands of my new condition,” he said in the interview.
  9. He has over 20 years of experience in the practice of law.
  10. Until his demise, he was the Head, Mohammed Fawehinmi’s Chambers, Director, Nigerian Law Publications Limited, Director, Books Industries Nigeria Limited and Director, Gani Fawehinmi Library and Gallery Limited.
