Your days are numbered, military tells terrorists
The Defence Headquarters has warned criminal elements, especially terrorists and bandits causing havoc across the country, that their days are numbered.
Spokesman of the Defence, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, said in a statement on Friday in Abuja that unless the terrorists surrender, the war against them continues.
“The military will continue to deny terrorists, insurgents and violent extremists the ability to achieve their selfish objectives.
“The war is on and their days are numbered, unless they surrender.”
The DHQ said the military had thwarted the criminals in several operations conducted within the last week, neutralizing 67 terrorists, apprehending 190 and rescuing 47 kidnapped hostages.
The operations were conducted in the North West, North East and North Central zones and substantially inflicted casualties on terrorists, insurgents and violent extremists.
The military said it recovered 112 assorted weapons and 989 assorted ammunition, including 342 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 321 rounds of 7.62mm special, 190 rounds of 7.62x51mm NATO, 34 rounds of 9mm, 74 live cartridges, 166 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, empty shells and 27 magazines.
Other items recovered include 23 vehicles, 33 motorcycles, 31 mobile phones, five Baofeng radios, four bicycles, cutlasses, axes, a digital camera and the sum of N3.2 million.
In the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralized 42 terrorists, apprehended 15 and rescued ten kidnapped hostages within the week.
The DHQ said the military would continue to deny terrorists, insurgents and violent extremists the ability to achieve their selfish objectives.
The statement added that the war against terrorism was on and the criminals’ days were numbered unless they surrendered.
