The Yobe State High Court in Potiskum has pronounced the judgment in the case involving dismissed soldier Lance Corporal John Gabriel and Lance Corporal Adamu Gideon.
The court on Tuesday sentenced Gabriel to death by hanging and Gideon to 10 years imprisonment at the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The trial involved twelve witnesses and nine exhibits presented by the prosecution.
Both accused soldiers testified in their defense but chose not to call further evidence.
The verdict was delivered by Justice Usman Zanna Mohammed, who found Gabriel, with Nigerian Army number N/A13/69/6522 attached to 241 Recce Battalion, Nguru, and Gideon guilty of murder and conspiracy, respectively.
